Charles W. Velte Jr.

Our Collector's Specimens are from the master collection of Charles W. Velte Jr. Charles was born in New York City in 1914, the son of German immigrants. He later lived in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He accumulated a large collection from most continents of the world from the 1930's thru the 1970's. After his passing in 1987, his collection passed to his heirs. We have acquired a small amount of his extensive collection. Most of the documented collection sites are long closed, and these great specimens from these sites are hard to obtain. My photographs, despite my best efforts, don't truly show the beauty of these specimens. Until I can afford a microscope camera, their true beauty can only be seen in person.
